Bangkok City Culture ride

ThailandBiking · Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya

heart of Bangkok business-districts. Although we avoid most of the roads with traffic, a part of the routing will be on main roads with other traffic. Bangkok City Culture starts at our office/lounge at 884/20 Rama III Road where we choose our bicycles and receive instructions for the ride. As soon as we bend of the main road we stop at a typical local temple. We ride along the train-graveyard, through small communities and visit the biggest fresh-market, Talad Khlong Toei. All your senses will wake up while there and you will be very busy with your camera. (If this has not happened before we reached this market) Of course we give you some time to discover this hidden gem. One of Bangkok’s best-kept secrets. After the market we cross the always traffic-congested Rama IV Road that brings us to the newly built Queen Sirikit Convention Center and the tranquil Benjakitti Forest Park. In the Benjakitti forest Park we will have a break and rest while enjoying the views. We continue our Bangkok City Culture ride on the “green mile”, a viaduct for pedestrians and cyclists between the Benjakitti Forest Park and The Lumpini Park. This viaduct crosses one of the most expensive streets in Bangkok, Thanon Witthayu, also called “wireless road. Many Embassies and 5-star hotels are located on this street. As soon as we go down from the stairs of viaduct we’ll be at the entrance of the famous “Central Park of Bangkok” Lumpini park. While enjoying this beautiful park we can see locals doing Tai Chi or Yoga and other outdoor activities. If we are lucky, we might meet the famous permanent residents of Lumpini Park, the huge monitor lizards! Although they are look scary, they are harmless. After the break we continue our Bangkok City Culture bicycle ride through small communities and stop for a delicious Thai lunch at a local shop/restaurant. After we this we’ll finish the ride about 12:30 at our office/lounge. Bangkok City Culture ride gives you a totally new and unique Bangkok Biking experience. Note: sometimes it may be necessary to change the above program and the places to be visited due to unforeseeable circumstances.

Chiang Mai City Culture ride

ThailandBiking · Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya

Chiang Mai City Culture Ride is a half day cycling tour that takes you through and around the rich cultural centre of Chiang Mai. During this ride of 25 KM, we bike as much as possible over quiet roads and small lanes passing beautiful temples and colorful markets while seeing local people continue their daily activities. We ride through small back roads and alleyways around and through the centre of Chiang Mai. We stop at a silversmith who fabricates beautiful jewelry in different shapes and sizes (sorry, no shopping). We visit the adjacent Silver Temple to see the monks keeping themselves busy making decorations of alloy used for the renovation of this temple. We continue our Chiang Mai City Culture ride through narrow alleys and small lanes to the centre of the city where we visit Wat Chedi Luang, which was built in the 14th century. Thailand’s most revered Buddha statue, the Emerald Buddha, used to reside in this temple until the Laotian kind took it to Luang Prabang (Laos) around 1545. Nowadays this Buddha statue can be found in Bangkok’s Wat Phra Kaew. Not too far from here we make a stop at the most visited and most beautiful temple of Chiang Mai, Wat Phra Singh. The temple houses a very important Buddha statue: the Phra Buddha Sihing which gives the temple its name. Our Chiang Mai City Culture trip continues to the outer circle of the centre, passing through a fresh and flower market where we see the most beautiful flowers of the North. This area is called “China Town of Chiang Mai”. We cycle further and cross the river and stop for another refreshment at a local market. Here we have more time to explain you about and taste some exotic fruits and/or local snacks. After this stop we take a surprising route back to our office. With a lot of new impressions you return to your hotel! Since we visit temples during Chiang Mai City Culture, participants are required to dress appropriately.

Colors of Bangkok

ThailandBiking · Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya

Colors of Bangkok, our popular half day cycling in Bangkok tour, takes participants through a part of the Thai capital which they will never see on their own. Biking in Bangkok’s green lung gives the participants the feeling they are miles out of town yet, the hustle & bustle of the town is very near. A part where there is almost no traffic, just narrow streets and backyards. Bangkok as you have never imagined! After a quick bicycle fitting and instructions, we start with our Bangkok bicycle adventure. The first part of our journey is on Rama III Road itself where our office/lounge is located but only for a few minutes because the ferryboat to cross the river isn’t far away. While standing on the riverbanks of the Chao Praya River you will be impressed by the many loops that are running in and out the Bhumibol Bridges I & II at 40 meters height. Once at the other side of the river we find ourselves in Bangkrachao sub-district. Bangkokians also call this area “The Green Lung of Bangkok” or the “Bangkok’s green jungle”. It is the biggest & greenest area near the city. (Bangkrachao is about 16 KM2)
Here we cycle on elevated pathways through lush vegetation and in the shade of coconut palms and banana trees. Recognize any plants from home? They sure are a whole lot bigger, aren’t they? The first stop in Bangkrachao is a local, non-touristy Buddhist temple (Wat Bang Krasop) with a history dating 700 years back. Mind your head when stepping inside the old temple. Doors/entrances, especially the very old ones, didn’t expect visitors that tall. If time and the principal allow us, we will pay a short visit to the elementary school next to the temple to say hello to the children. We continue the bicycle ride deeper into the jungle until we reach a Muay Thai boxing gym. Here we’ll show/tell you about this national sport and perhaps we’ve a boxing enthousiast among us that is keen taking a short lesson from the master. We continue our ride crossing a market (when open) and the beautiful Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park where we take a break and enjoy the scenery During the ride we will also make a stop at a local restaurant to offer you a typical Thai meal like “Pad Thai” or “Kao Pad” (Fried noodles or fried rice) which can be with shrimps, crab, pork, chicken or vegetarian. Tell our guide your preference. After our meal, time has come to return to the pier where we take the ferry back to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok again. You don’t need to be a cycling fanatic to join the excursion. The pace is relaxed and we make enough stops for taking pictures, explanation of sights, something to drink and relax.
Colors of Bangkok will be an amazing Bangkok biking experience for young and old! Note: RBB reserves the right to change advertised itineraries, since schools and local shops may be closed during the weekend, school holidays and national holidays.
