Cape Town Big 5 Day Safari

The 10,000-hectare reserve is located in the historic town of Touws River, in a valley between the Langeberg and Outeniqua Mountains in the Karoo. Since its early days as a habitat for various antelope species, the reserve has become home to the Big Five – elephant, lion, buffalo, rhino, and leopard – as well as a considerable number of other wild animals that roam freely within its boundaries. Includes transfers to and from Cape Town (2.5-hour drive each way).

The Bo-Kaap is one of Cape Town's most distinct neighborhoods and there is so much to see, taste and explore. To this day, the houses are a mix of Cape Dutch and Georgian architecture, in distinctive multi-colored rows on steep cobblestone streets. The choice of color is said to be due to the fact that all houses had to be white while rented. When this rule was eventually lifted and slaves were allowed to buy the lots, all the houses were painted bright colors by their owners as an expression of their freedom.
