Jungle Canoe Tour
Share with the local guide all the knowledge about the flora and fauna found within the national park. Enjoy close views of caimans, crocodiles, iguanas, lizards, monkeys, herons, toucans, sloths, otters, snakes, anhingas, tapirs, jaguars and many more.
**The Activity**: We begin by picking you up at your hotel or at our designated meeting point near the main boating area in Tortuguero Village. We prepare everything needed for visiting the national park, which includes providing life vests, paddles, seating arrangements, storage space for your items, etc. Once aboard a traditional dugout canoe (piragua), we depart towards the entrance gate of the National Park office where we proceed to purchase entry permits/tickets. Following these formalities, we navigate through various canals, rivers, creeks while keeping an eye out for wildlife along the journey. Upon entering deeper parts of the park, there may be narrow passages that allow access only via small boats like ours; here guests experience true serenity amidst untouched natural beauty. The tour lasts approximately two hours thirty minutes before heading back to base camp—on the way home keep scanning surroundings hoping spot some additional creatures worth sharing!
