Embark on a three-hour journey into Greek cuisine! On this walking tour, we're going to discover what Greeks love to eat in their everyday lives. From feta cheese, savoury pies or sweet bougatsa, pitta with gyro, skewers or souvlaki, perhaps some fruit along the way or some olives if the central market is open. We'll also sample Greek coffee and Greek wine or beer while chatting about sport as locals do! We'll gather at Athens' most cosmopolitan square, Omonia Square, before heading off toward one of its shopping areas. As we walk down the bustling main roads of town, we arrive at the Central Food Market for samples of your favourite Greek nuts and spirits such as ouzo; then onto the Meat & Fish Markets - which close on Sunday afternoons without affecting the rest of the tour. When touring Greece, don't miss trying mezé (Greek Tapas), so naturally these become our next port of call. A wander round Psiri's winding alleys follows – an area beloved by Athenians who come here to enjoy traditional Greek coffee whilst debating matters relating to café society. Continuing past Psyrri brings us to yet another lively district famous for tasting those delicious loukoumades!!
