1-Day Kampala Lady Guided Heritage City Walks ( 40$)
KIJE AFRICAN ADVENTURES
Discover the authentic heart of Uganda's capital on this immersive, small-group walking tour led by a female guide. The Kampala Lady Guided Heritage Walk is designed to offer a safe, insightful, and personal exploration of the city’s most iconic and culturally significant sites. This tour takes you beyond the surface to understand the history, people, and rhythms that make Kampala unique.
Your journey begins at the landmark Gaddafi National Mosque, where you’ll learn about the history of Islam in Uganda and the story of its construction. From there, you’ll descend into the vibrant, everyday life of the city. Experience the energy of the Old Taxi Park, the primary hub for Uganda’s "matatu" transport system. Explore the vast aisles of Owino Market, a hub for second-hand goods and local trade, and visit the historic Nakasero Market to see the freshest local produce.
As you walk, your guide will share stories at significant landmarks including the Independence Monument and the WWII Memorial. You’ll also gain insight into Uganda’s multicultural society with a visit to the Shree Sanatan Dharma Mandal (Hindu Temple) . The tour concludes at Bagala Craft Market, where you can browse and shop for authentic African art, crafts, and souvenirs.
